Client
Artigli is a new trattoria-pizzeria in southern Italy, founded by three friends keen to take a chance and create something new in a small village in Cilento.

Assignment
Artigli is located in the centre of Pisciotta, in Cilento. A strongly local setting, where the visual language of restaurants oscillates between faux rustic and nautical styles. The aim was to break away from that aesthetic and build an identity capable of positioning the venue as a Mediterranean space with a European flair.

Process & Solution
The project abandons representation in favour of gesture. The reference to Jean-Michel Basquiat is methodological: his instinctive, scratchy, sign-like nature becomes the principle upon which to build the identity. The logotype is an expressive sign rather than a static symbol. Around it, the visual system develops through engraved and irregular elements that act as extensions of the gesture, flexible and consistent across all touchpoints.
